- How will I cope with severe cravings when needed?
- Do I need to avoid some situations where I will be more tempted to smoke for a while? What is that situations? If the situation of temptation is unavoidable, how do I counter? For example did I normally smoke while driving or watching television?
- Do I need to quit drinking for a while? Most people are more likely to give in to a smoking craving when they drink.
- Do I need any loved ones support and who will it be?
- How do I cope if I do fail? How do I motivate myself to start again? Most people do not succeed the first or second time they try.
- What do I do in the spare time I have to keep my mind of smoking?
Giving these things a thought will help to ensure success. Remember that every person that is trying to quit are different and their preferences and motivations are different.
